RT reports as anti-war protesters gathered in New York to oppose NATO and US military support for Ukraine. They demanded an immediate halt to war funding and the redirection of funds to social services.

‘Money for our needs, not for the war’: A demonstration to oppose NATO and US arms supplies to Ukraine was held on January 14 in New York. The protesters called for reallocating funds allocated to the war to benefit social services such as education or housing. One of the demonstrators interviewed by the video agency RUPTLY called for “negotiations between Ukraine and Russia”.

However, the American administration and its allies are not heading in this direction, having recently announced additional arms deliveries, thus sustaining the Ukrainian war effort. As such, at the beginning of January France, Germany and USA had promised to send infantry vehicles and reconnaissance tanks, 40 German Marders, 50 American Bradleys and French AMX-10 RCs.
These new announcements come as the Ukrainian army seems to be in difficulty in the Donbass, where it has, according to Moscow, lost the control of the city of Solédar located in the People’s Republic of Donetsk (DPR, attached to Russia at the end of September after a referendum supported by Moscow but denounced by kyiv and its Western allies). For its part, Ukraine denied this information, stating that fighting was still ongoing in the locality.
