“We don’t need the West to defend Iranian women,” said the vice-president of the official Iranian delegation to the UN organization on Thursday, November 17.
In her speech during the meeting of the 3rd Committee of the General Assembly, gathered around “the agenda on the situation of human rights and the reports of the special rapporteurs”, Ms. Zahra Ershadi assured that ” Iranian women have enough intelligence, culture, sense of sacrifice and patriotism. We therefore do not need Western countries to set themselves up as their defenders and falsely claim the protection of Iranian women”.
She had previously presented the view of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the resolution relating to the report on human rights in Iran.
“Countries that passed the human rights resolution hostile to Iran, under the pretext of protecting women’s rights, are using all their capabilities, including spreading misleading, false and inciting information of public opinion and provide training in subversive actions, while providing financial and military support to terrorist groups to turn peaceful protests into acts of violence,” she charged.
She added: “Iran, above all, strongly rejects and condemns draft resolution L-34, the so-called resolution on the situation of human rights in Iran, which was prepared on the basis of a truncated report, based on false conclusions and showing biased behavior on the part of the Special Rapporteur”.
She continued: “The supporters of this decision, those who claim to defend human rights in Iran, have long precedents for blatant hypocrisy, double standards and exploitation of human rights in the context of their narrow-minded agenda. None of them is morally appropriate to advise Iranians on human rights, as their practices contradict their words.”
“Let me speak more transparently, and some of those who claim to defend human rights must be reminded of their crimes so that they do not forget their true reality. These countries are Canada, the United States of America, Great Britain, Germany, as well as the Zionist entity, and we are not surprised by this, because the common face between all of them is the brutality, cruelty, rampant killings, massacres and genocide”.
On Wednesday, November 16, this GA committee voted by a narrow majority, with 79 votes for, 28 votes against, and 68 abstentions, in favor of the resolution condemning Iran on the issue of human rights. The resolution had been proposed by Canada.
Canada’s 1,300 graves of Aboriginal children
From 1830, a first boarding school was opened to forcibly install children separated from their families by force in order to institutionalize them outside their cultural traditions, the site reported. Humanium.
“The school marked the beginning of a 165-year era of hatred in which 7 generations of Indigenous children were separated from their families and forced to attend residential schools,” laments the National Center for Truth and Justice. reconciliation in 2020.
According to the latter, in 1920, a revision of the Indian Act forced children between the ages of 5 and 7 by treaty to attend residential schools.
More than 150,000 children have been sent to these oppressive institutions, designed to strip them of their youth and cultural identity, reports Humanium.
In her speech, Ms. Ershadi violently criticized Canada, recalling its responsibility in the case of the 1,300 unmarked graves of indigenous children which were discovered in 2021 in four boarding schools in a residential area in Canada.
And to continue: thousands of children were victims of physical, sexual and psychological abuse from the staff of the establishment, add to this the fact that the children were often taken away from their families. In some cases, they had to travel more than 1,000 km to reach these schools.
In 2015, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission said that many more than 3,200 children likely died in residential schools as this conservative estimate is based on the portion of schools in the country that were surveyed. It is likely that these children died of disease, neglect and suicide, according to Humanium.

And the crimes of Australia
The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry had put Australia in its place on Wednesday, November 16, in the same way, by responding to the Prime Minister’s statements on recent internal developments in Iran.
