People continued to wonder about the outcome of the recent midterm elections as problems were reported in key counties and swing districts across the country.

In Arizona and Pennsylvania, significant numbers of people living in Republican-dominated areas reported hour-long queues at polling places and malfunctioning tabulators that prevented them from voting.

In some polling places in Arizona, voters were forced to cast their ballot in a separate ballot box to be manually counted at a later stage.

In Virginia, where several legislative elections were tight, some polling stations counted more votes than the number of ballots actually cast.

Incumbent Abigail Spanberger, D-Va. won her race by less than 13,000 votes, and incumbent Jennifer Wexton, D-Va. won his race by less than 20,000 votes.

In Prince William County, one of Virginia’s largest electoral counties, at least two precincts had more ballots flagged on voting machine counters than tallied by poll workers, according to a report by the ‘Electoral Process Education Corporation (EPEC), a non-profit organization that performs analysis of electoral data.

An EPEC board member told Just the News on Monday that precincts P-612 and P-104 were the ones affected by the differing vote totals. P-612 is in Virginia’s 7th congressional district, and P-104 in the 10th.

Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger won the 7th CD against Republican candidate Yesli Vega, and Democratic Rep. Jennifer Wexton won re-election in the 10th CD against Republican candidate Hung Cao.
