On Monday, at least 53 people were found dead in the trailer of an 18-wheeler during a human smuggling attempt at the southern border.
The incident has reignited debate over the Biden administration’s immigration policies. Biden has just cleared the hurdles necessary to lift the “stay in Mexico” policy, which kept hundreds of thousands of immigrants at the border while their asylum claims were processed.
An almost unprecedented number of illegal immigrants crossed the border in fiscal year 2021, a sharp increase from 2020 when Trump was still president.
Just days after the mass death incident that occurred on Monday, four more immigrants are believed to have died in a human smuggling operation in Texas.
Breitbart Reports: “For the second time in less than 24 hours, migrants have died in an accident as smugglers tried to avoid arrest. Texas Department of Public Safety officials say four migrants died and two others are in critical condition when a Jeep driven by a suspected smuggler crashed into a tractor-trailer as it fled from ISIS forces. order. The driver is in critical condition (brain dead).
Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Chris Olivarez told Breitbart Texas that a Border Patrol agent attempted to arrest a suspected smuggler near Encinal, Texas on Thursday morning. The driver did not yield the right of way, which led to a pursuit by law enforcement.
Olivarez said the chase ended when the driver of the white Jeep slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer. It is not known at this time if the Border Patrol continued the pursuit or if another agency took over before the accident. Breitbart Texas has contacted Border Patrol officials in the Laredo area for additional information. The agency confirmed that Border Patrol officers were involved in the traffic stop. »
Immigration experts blame Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for much of the current immigration crisis. “Mayorkas has gutted our domestic immigration enforcement apparatus – meaning that once an illegal alien enters our country, it becomes virtually impossible to deport them,” said Matthew Tragesser of the Federation for American Immigration Reform
