Biden’s abortion plan falls flat as two key senators refuse and reject ‘filibuster’” .

Last Friday, the Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade case in a decision that sparked a political storm.
Since then, Democrats have offered a number of different solutions to protect the “right” to abortion.
Some, like the representative Alexandria Occasio Cortez (D-Ny.)went so far as to propose abolishing the Supreme Court.
A popular solution among Democrats is to attempt to codify the protections offered by Roe v Wade into federal law.
This proposal would require Democrats to be on the same page as Vice President Kamala Harris, as no Republicans would vote for her.
It would also require the Democrats to overcome a Republican filibuster, or use a “nuclear option” to temporarily suspend the obstruction. This would also require a majority vote.
Today, two key senators said they would not suspend the filibuster to codify Roe v Wade into law, putting Biden’s plan in jeopardy.
The Daily Mail reports: The senators. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema remain firm in their defense of the filibuster, their offices said, despite public pressure all the way to President Biden.
Mr. Manchin’s office told DailyMail.com that the West Virginia Democrat’s position had not changed in light of the president’s new comments, and Ms. Sinema’s office referred DailyMail.com to a statement made by Arizona Democrat after Supreme Court ruling leaked: ‘Senate protections against eroding women’s access to health care have been used half a dozen times in the last ten years years, and are more important than ever.
In fresh comments at a press conference in Madrid on Thursday, Mr Biden said he would support an exception to the filibuster to pass federal abortion legislation and criticized the ‘outrageous’ repeal of Roe c. Wade by the Supreme Court.
