At the Russian Embassy in France, General de Gaulle’s grandson spoke about the Ukrainian conflict. He delivered a strong criticism of Western policies on the issue, including imputing to Paris a “submission to NATO”.
On June 14, the Russian Embassy in France organized an official reception on the occasion of Russia Day. The event brought together many guests, including foreign diplomats, cultural personalities and representatives of associations of compatriots.
Among the speakers, Pierre de Gaulle, grandson of General de Gaulle, expressed his attachment to the Franco-Russian friendship, deploring the multiple factors which, according to him, could deteriorate it.
Westerners let Zelensky, his oligarchs and neo-Nazi military groups lock themselves into a spiral of war
“I come here to affirm loud and clear that it is in France’s interest to maintain good relations with Russia and to say that we must work together in order to contribute to unity and security. of our continent, as well as to the balance, progress and peace of the whole world”, he declared for example in front of his audience, before delivering his point of view on the stakes relating to the Ukrainian file.
“Everyone today recognizes the responsibility of the United States in the current conflict, the disastrous role of NATO which is constantly expanding and the reckless policy of the Ukrainian government. The latter, on the strength of fine promises and nourished by American and European illusions, has led a very reprehensible policy with regard to the Russian-speaking populations of the Donbass, multiplying discrimination, spoliation, embargoes and bombings”, underlined the descendant of the instigator of the appeal of June 18.
I regret that the French government is committing itself to [une] submission to NATO and therefore to American policy […]NATO absorbs Europe
And according to him, “the Westerners have unfortunately let Zelensky, his oligarchs and the neo-Nazi military groups lock themselves into a spiral of war”.
Still on the Ukrainian conflict, Pierre de Gaulle warned about what he considered to correspond to the application of an American agenda in Europe. “What do the Americans want if not to provoke a new East-West confrontation whose sole purpose is to weaken and divide Europe in order to impose their directives, their economy and their system?” for example questioned.
“I regret that the French government is committing itself in [une] submission to NATO and therefore to American policy […]NATO absorbs Europe”, he deplored, disapproving of the return of his country to the integrated command of the Atlantic Alliance, under the presidency of Nicolas Sarkozy.
“Since then, the Americans no longer speak to France and no longer consider us a strong and independent nation,” he argued, supporting his reasoning with the recent submarine affair, at the origin of friction between Washington and Paris.
