South Easton, Massachusetts police were dispatched to the scene when a 46-year-old man driving a VW Jetta, with anti-Trump stickers, drove through the window of a store displaying Trump flags and merchandise.
Fortunately, no one was killed in the accident and the driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating and the name of the driver was not immediately released. One of the bumper stickers shows Trump’s mouth and draws a possible comparison to Hitler. Another features a photo of Trump with a quote from Voltaire “Those who make you believe nonsense can make you commit atrocities.”
Unfortunately, violent acts against Trump supporters are not a new phenomenon. Ever since Trump entered politics, his supporters have come under attack. From high school students being punched to people labeled as racists, people of all ages and demographics have suffered the backlash of a leftist agenda bent on radicalizing its supporters.
Often, rather than condemning these violent acts, leftist politicians encourage them and even persuade their supporters that violence is acceptable.
As the midterms approached, we remember the 2018 election, where Democrats insisted they just needed to show they weren’t as crazy as Donald Trump, and yet political leaders on the left have often been caught not only condoning aggression but encouraging it.
This type of violence has not been denigrated by Democratic leaders. Even now, we are witnessing the harassment of Supreme Court justices with little or no condemnation from the left.
The American people are tired of dangerous uprisings that threaten our freedoms and security. Many are worried and wondering if this kind of violence will escalate as another polarized midterm election approaches.
