On Wednesday, Dr. Anthony Fauci tested positive for Covid-19. Fauci is apparently triple vaccinated and frequently says he avoids large social gatherings and wears a mask, more than two years into the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
Dr. Fauci tested positive in a rapid antigen test and “experienced mild symptoms,” the National Institute of Health said in a statement.
The NIH noted that Fauci was fully vaccinated and received two booster shots.
“Dr. Fauci will self-isolate and continue to work from home. He has not recently been in close contact with President Biden or other senior government officials,” the NIH said.
An NIH spokesperson said the following after Dr. Fauci tested positive earlier today:
“Dr. Fauci will self-isolate and continue to work from home. He has not recently been in close contact with President Biden or other senior government officials.”
Conservative social media figures immediately took to Twitter to criticize the NIH director. One account shared the news with their followers along with a photo of a pile of masks on Fauci.

Vernon Jones, a congressional candidate in Georgia’s 10th district, mocked Fauci for the number of vaccines he received, saying he received ’18 fewer doses’ than Fauci and that he didn’t has still not tested positive for Covid.
I probably got 18 fewer doses of the COVID-19 vaccine than Dr. Fauci and still haven’t caught COVID.
Another Twitter user recalled the days when the media and liberal politicians called Covid-19 the “disease of the unvaccinated”, pointing out the irony that King Covidian himself caught the virus.
