Basement Chairman J. Biden is so overwhelmed he can’t even muster a sentence to offer his condolences to someone in front of the press. On Thursday, while delivering a speech at the White House, he briefly stopped to offer his “condolences” to a guest.
“My condolences to the family of your…uhhh…CFO who passed away very unexpectedly. My best wishes to your family, it is a difficult ordeal, ”he said.
Price referenced the look of confusion on her sign language interpreter’s face as she tried to decipher the nonsense he was saying during his speech.
Biden was referring to Joann Stores chief financial officer Matt Susz, who died suddenly this week.
During his speech, Mr. Biden criticized shipping companies for the price hikes suffered by middle-class Americans across the country.
He also repeated the predictable phrase that runaway inflation was part of “Putin’s price hike”.
Biden also slammed the fact that shipping is in the hands of nine different companies, which he said made $190 billion in profits last year.
The speech came as a bill is set to hit the president’s desk, titled the Ocean Shipping Reform Act, which is supposed to cut shipping costs and ease pressure on US consumers.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Mn.) said if companies don’t lower their prices in response to the legislation, Congress will start looking to antitrust law to coerce their hand.
If I were them, I would take into account the unanimous vote of the Senate, the strong vote of the House, and the fact that we could act very quickly if they do not start to be fair, ”said Ms. Klobuchar. If they keep their prices that high and don’t meet the needs of our country, I think we’ll see legislation, more legislation, come into the mix.” She added.
